What can be said about Alex Marshall that has not been said. MBE, six times world bowls champion. Six times world pairs champion, Scotland's most decorated athelete, the list is almost endless.
We as bowlers owe one to Alex as we are now described as athletes and not just some old geezers playing bowls. What you may not know about Alex, he is naturally left handed. When just a lad he overheard someone say that he would never make a bowler being left handed. He changed to his right and the rest is history.
